Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s Arrival in Boston
Join us as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Sri Sri Prabhupada’s historic journey to Boston—a moment that marked the beginning of a global spiritual movement. We warmly welcome you to our temple on this auspicious day as we honor our history, culture, and deep connection to the Divine. Let us come together in devotion and joy to celebrate 60 years of spiritual legacy
Devotees will offer a 60-hour Kirtan Yajna over successive weekends, with 10–12 hours of kirtan each day—honoring Srila Prabhupada, who first brought the chanting of the holy names to the West
“Prabhupada’s Suitcase & Prayer” – children recite lines from Prabhupada’s Boston prayer and place symbolic items into a suitcase, representing the treasures he carried (books, holy name, compassion, faith)
Devotees and congregational families will each offer a lamp—one for every year—symbolizing gratitude and devotion for Srila Prabhupada’s divine contribution and sacred mission. Each lamp represents a prayer of thankfulness for his mercy, guidance, and tireless efforts in spreading Krishna consciousness in the West.Together, this collective offering illuminates the temple with devotion, reminding us of our responsibility to continue his mission with love and dedication
Each devotee and family will write a personal commitment of service to Srila Prabhupada, offered collectively as a heartfelt expression of devotion and surrender. These vows deepen our love and attachment to Srila Prabhupada, reminding us of our sacred responsibility to carry forward his mission. To receive the mercy of a pure devotee of the Lord is to receive the favor of the Supreme Lord, the highest benediction one can ever attain
HG Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of the Global Hare Krishna Movement, and HG Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman of the Global Hare Krishna Movement, will address the devotees on the sacred theme: Carrying Srila Prabhupada’s Boston Prayer Forward, drawing upon their four decades of devoted service. Their message will inspire us to deepen our devotion and actively carry forward Srila Prabhupada’s mission in the western world
