Sri Sri Radha Damodara Mandir warmly invites you and your family to celebrate the divine appearance of Lord Krishna—an eternal symbol of love, wisdom, and joyful devotion—across two unforgettable evenings at 226 R, Grafton St, Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

A Temple Transformed

Months of preparation culminate in a sanctuary draped with fresh garlands, colorful festoons, and twinkling lights. From the first notes of kirtan to the final midnight aarti, the entire campus radiates the festive spirit of Janmashtami.

Festival Schedule & Highlights

Friday, Aug 15 5: 00 pm Culturals by Natyamani school of dance & Upasana dance academy
5:30 pm Dahi Handi – Cheer as teams form human pyramids to reach the butter pot, reliving Krishna’s playful pastime.
  6:00 pm Krishna Costume Event – Children don divine attire; prizes for the most captivating representations.
  7:00 pm Akshaya Patra – A Special Janmashtami Play
  8:00 pm Soul-stirring Kirtans led by devotees.
  8:15 pm Sandhya Arati – Evening lamp offering.
  8:30 pm Prasadam – Enjoy traditional sweets and a vegetarian feast.
Saturday, Aug 16 6:00 pm Gaura Arati
7:00 pm Pallaki Utsav
7:30 pm Cultural Programs – Classical dance, bhajans, and instrumental ensembles.
  9:15 pm Special Abhishekam – The utsava Deities of Sri Sri Radha Damodara are bathed with milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, juices, and a cascade of fresh flowers.
10:15pm Festival Lecture
11:15 pm Jhulan Utsav
  12:00 am Midnight Maha-Arati – Ring in the exact moment of Krishna’s birth with a grand offering of lights and conch shells.
  12:30 am Midnight Prasadam – Relish delicacies prepared especially for Janmashtami.
