His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of ISKCON, was born in 1896 on the day of Nandotsava (the day following Janmashtami). He is the 32nd acharya in the unbroken disciplic succession descending from Srila Vyasadeva, manifesting the compassion of Vyasadeva by translating and distributing the timeless Vedic wisdom of the Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, and other essential texts across the globe. Therefore, his disciples and followers celebrate Srila Prabhupada’s appearance day as Vyasa Puja

Festival Highlights

• Offerings: An opportunity to cook and bring an offering to Srila Prabhupada

• Homage Readings – Devotees offer their homage to Srila Prabhupada by reading their Vyasa Puja offerings

• Grand Abhishekam – Ceremonial bathing of Srila Prabhupada’s deity with milk, yoghurt, ghee, honey, and fragrant waters.

Prasadam Feast – Delicious prasadam feast will be served at the end of the festival.
