Kartik Month Celebrations
The holy month of Kartik (Damodar Maas), the most auspicious month in the Vaishnava calendar, has begun. Scriptures describe Kartik as “the month most dear to Lord Krishna.” Even the smallest devotional act in this sacred time brings multiplied spiritual benefit.
During Kartik, devotees especially remember the sweet pastime of Damodara, when Mother Yashoda lovingly bound Lord Krishna with ropes. In honor of this pastime, devotees offer daily ghee lamps, sing the Damodar Ashtakam, and engage in increased prayer, chanting, and seva.
At Sri Sri Radha Damodara Mandir, we invite you to join us in this beautiful spiritual journey. Every evening, lamps are offered to Their Lordships accompanied by melodious kirtan, bringing the temple alive with light, devotion, and joy.
🌸 Highlights of Kartik Month:
Culmination on Kartik Purnima – the festival of lights
Daily Deepa Daan (lamp offerings to Lord Damodara)
