Sri Krishna Janmashtami 2026 will be celebrated on Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4, 2026, at Sri Sri Radha Damodar Mandir in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Also known as Krishna Janmashtami, Krishna Ashtami, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, and Krishna Jayanti, this sacred festival commemorates the divine appearance of Lord Sri Krishna.

Janmashtami is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, commemorating the divine appearance of Lord Krishna. The most significant worship takes place during Nishita Kaal, the sacred midnight period traditionally associated with Lord Krishna’s appearance.

We observe Sri Krishna Janmashtami in accordance with the devotional tradition established by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The day is centered on remembering and serving Lord Krishna through fasting, hearing Krishna-katha, chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, deity worship, Harinama Sankirtan, and the midnight abhishekam.

On 4th Sep darshan is open all day starting at 7:30 am.
